Weight and thickness

The average thickness of masonrydécor benches is 40mm thick. Although because our benches are custom made we can make them to any thickness required.   At 40mm thick the bench will weigh approx. 90 kg per square metre. Existing cabinets are normally strong enough for the bench to sit on because the weight is spread over a large area.

The Process

90% of masonrydécor benches are made in the factory. This is a more controlled environment, which ensures there will be minimal problems encountered. Pouring in place can have the benefit of the job having minimal joins, however this is often out weighed by problems occurred with other trades and the mess.   Both procedures deliver spectacular bench tops for any situation.

Materials

masonrydécor uses a wide range of aggregates in the bench tops. Pebbles, shells, coral, glass and different varieties of stone are used. Oxide pigments are used to colour the bench and also the use of different colours and types of cement.

Reinforcement.

All of our benches are reinforced with galvanised and fibre mesh.

Sealer

The sealer used depends on the finish asked for by the client. These include natural, satin and gloss. Some sealers are water based and others are a polyurethane .All of these protect from staining and are U.V resistant.
